Fish oil is sold in capsules and in bottles, and the figure that separates the products is the amount of EPA and DHA per serving — not the amount of oil. READ EPA AND DHA, NOT THE CAPSULE WEIGHT. A 1,000 mg fish oil capsule can contain anywhere between 120 and 700 mg of EPA+DHA. Both figures are in the nutrition table on each product page. THE FORMS. Triglyceride form (TG) and ethyl ester form (EE) both appear. TG is often stated explicitly because it costs more to produce. Which form a product uses is in the ingredient list. BOTTLE OR CAPSULE. Liquid oil is the cheapest per gram of EPA+DHA and comes flavoured, usually lemon. Capsules avoid the taste. PURITY AND SHELF LIFE. Several ranges state purification and oxidation values on the pack.
