This shelf gathers vessels for mixing and carrying drinks. The differences between them are material, volume and how they mix. THE MIXING MECHANISM. Metal wire balls are the most common and the cheapest. Mesh screens sit in the lid and give a finer mix. Some models have no mechanism at all and rely on their shape. THE VOLUME. 500, 700 and 900 ml are the usual sizes. The scale on the side is either printed or moulded; moulded lasts longer. THE MATERIAL. Plastic is lighter and cheaper. Stainless steel takes more punishment, holds temperature in the insulated models and costs more. STORAGE COMPARTMENTS. Several models have screw-on containers underneath for powder or capsules. They add bulk in the bag but save carrying a separate tub. WASHING. Most plastic models are dishwasher-safe; insulated steel bottles often are not. The product text says which. THE BRANDS.
