Arginine

Arginine is sold in several forms, and the ingredient list states which. L-ARGININE is the base form, sold as free powder or in capsules. It is the cheapest per gram. AAKG is arginine alpha-ketoglutarate, a salt common in the sports ranges. The amount of pure arginine per gram of AAKG is lower, which the nutrition table states. ARGININE HYDROCHLORIDE appears in a few products and is named on the pack where used. CITRULLINE AS AN ALTERNATIVE. Citrulline is sold on its own shelf and is often used in the same contexts as arginine. Anyone comparing should look at both. POWDER IS BITTER. Pure arginine powder has a distinct taste of its own, which is why flavoured versions and capsules sell despite the higher price per gram. DOSAGE is stated on the pack and should be followed. THE BRANDS. NOW Foods carries the plain powders and capsules, Olimp Nutrition and Nutrend the AAKG ranges, Doctor's Best the composite formulas.
