Marine collagen

Marine collagen is derived from fish skin and scales and consists almost entirely of type I. THE ODOUR IS THE DIFFERENCE. Marine collagen has a faint fishy smell that is noticeable in unflavoured powders and disappears in flavoured ones. It is the most common reason to rule it out, and the most common reason these ranges are flavoured. PEPTIDE SIZE. Marine peptides are often smaller than bovine ones, and several ranges state a molecular weight in daltons on the pack. THE FISH. Which species the raw material comes from is rarely on the front but often in the product text. Ranges with MSC or similar certification state it explicitly. THE SERVING is typically ten grams, the same as bovine collagen, and the price per serving is higher. ADDITIONS. Vitamin C and hyaluronic acid are common in these ranges. THE BRANDS. Applied Nutrition and Allnutrition carry the flavoured powders, Osavi the unflavoured ones, Apollo's Hegemony smaller ranges.
