If the name carries D- or DL- it is a different substance and is always stated explicitly, for example DL-phenylalanine. FREE FORM OR BOUND. "Free form" on the label means the amino acid is not bound to others in a peptide chain. That is standard on this shelf. POWDER OR CAPSULES. Powder is cheapest per gram and can be weighed. Several of these amino acids are bitter in pure form, which is why capsules sell well despite the price. DOSES vary widely between substances. The figure is on the front and in the nutrition table.
